Application: ESR Tubes are used in blood collection and anti-coagulation for sedimentation rate test.

It contains a 0.129mol/L(3.8%)buffered tri-solium citrate solution with mixing ratio of 1 part citrate solution to 4 parts blood. ESR measurement refers to the Westergren method.

Brief Introduction: In healthy people, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate value fluctuates within a narrow range. In many pathological conditions, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate is significantly increased. Erythrocyte sedimentation is the result of the interaction of multiple factors.

Principle: Red blood cells in the blood flow repel each other due to factors such as the negative charge of sialic acid on the cell membrane surface, so that the distance between cells is about 25nm, so they are dispersed and suspended from each other and sink slowly. If the plasma or red blood cells themselves change, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate can change.

Methodological evaluation: Westergren's method.
